Let me start by sharing how I understand spirituality.
It begins by acknowledging that spirituality is unique to each individual. In short, a person who engages in a spiritual practice yearns to connect with something bigger than their self and deeper than the materialistic and egotistic dimensions of their lives.
Things like meditation, being in nature, prayer, being in a spiritual community, yoga, and many other practices can foster your sense of Spirituality.
Traditional psychology tends to focus on the life experiences that wounded our sense of wholeness. Spirituality gets you directly back in touch with that wholeness because it rests on the premise that wholeness is always at the very ground of your being. You are already whole. That sense of wholeness may have been buried deep but it is always there within you, waiting to be rediscovered.
In the process of spiritual counseling, I enjoy helping clients explore and ultimately connect with their spirituality that is specifically useful for them.
My aim is to help you strengthen your connection to whatever you feel called towards. The ultimate goal is to help you integrate your spirituality more into your daily life to increase happiness, peace, and a deep connection to yourself and the world around you.
